We fly to our cozy yurt located deep in the Cascades at 6,000 feet, unload our gear. After that it is three or four days of skiing and exploring some of the finest touring terrain around. This program includes roundtrip helicopter flight, guide services and three or four nights at the yurt with catered, delicious wholesome meals. You and up to seven friends bring your own equipment, an assortment of beverages, clothes and a sleeping bag for mining the goods at our backcountry stash. Escape to the Barron yurt and see what brings groups back year after year.

There is a noted absence of backcountry huts or lodges in the Northwest. With our abundant snowfall and often times difficult access, an extended ski trip into the backcountry makes perfect sense. The trick is doing it in comfort.

The North Barron yurt is just north of Harts' Pass and provides some incredible touring with all the creature comforts of a backcountry hut. The views of the North Cascades from this area are much different from those around Washington Pass and afford a unique perspective on many of the peaks in North Cascades National Park.

4 night yurt trip - $1,450 per guest with a required deposit of full payment. Pricing does not include Washington State sales tax of 8.1%. Available Sunday through Wednesday departing Sunday afternoon and returning Thursday afternoon.

Super Cozy, Comfortable and Warm

The peak directly above the yurt is called Tamarack and can be skied on almost all aspects after about a 20-minute skin from the front door of the yurt. On the other side of the Valley, Buffalo Pass ridge offers lines from 800 to 1,500' feet, also about a 30 minute skin from the front door.

The yurt itself is 30 feet in diameter and is set up to sleep 10 (8 guests and 2 guides). There is a wood stove and propane stove for heat, a propane cook stove, well stocked kitchen, propane lights and both single and queen size bunks. There is an indoor bathroom and shower. Super cozy, comfortable and warm- all you need after a day in the mountains. We serve up fully catered meals, so all you need to do is bring your beverages of choice and kick back at night after a good day's touring!

Other Information

The yurt is outfitted with beds and foam mattresses with linens, a propane stove and lights and a wood stove for heat. You will need to bring a down or synthetic sleeping bag rated to approximately 20 degrees fahrenheit. Please keep within the boundaries of the gear list to insure that your group can stay within our strict size and weight limits.

A quick note about alcohol…Just like you, we like a cold beer after a long day of powder skiing! Please note that all beer should be in CANS. Wine and alcohol may be in boxes or glass or plastic bottles. Bring as much as you’d like, but remember that all the alcohol that isn’t consumed stays at the yurt!
